August 24, 200520 yr I own the Z3s ... They need a lot of EQing to sound good (very peaky response) ... I also got them for much less than that at Costco ($40 CAD) ...In all honesty, I haven't heard any computer speakers that have actually satisfied me, though ... Best computer speakers I've heard were made by Klipsche, but they were expensive ...
August 24, 200520 yr i have logitech z530s or something like that. theyre really bassheavy, i have my bass down at zero and u can still hear it downstairs on low volume. theyre not bad though, they suffice my musical needs.
August 25, 200520 yr Every Logitech system I've heard has had overpowering "bass" ... Of course, when I say bass, I mean 90-150 Hz, not actual bass ...
August 25, 200520 yr "Computer" speakers are a bastardization of anything good in audio...a simple 25wpc amp from RadioShack and a pair of 4.5" full range drivers in custom enclosures will be a vast improvement
August 25, 200520 yr I agree ... See previous statementIn all honesty, I haven't heard any computer speakers that have actually satisfied me, though ...
August 25, 200520 yr Author i just ended up going with logitech. i just flipped a coin. if im not happy with it i'll take it back.
October 26, 200519 yr I like the klipsch ones.. and my old school logitech set. Itunes has a pretty good EQ built in and I have a plug in on top of that. So the sound gets shaped pretty well.I do agree with JMAC about the bass though. It's pretty hard to squeez much LOW end out of them, hardly any bass felt more just heard.
October 27, 200519 yr Used amp and some tower speakers worked great for me untill i blew the fuse.My bro has the logitech 4.1 system, even with the bass turned down its still quite loud (the bass)
November 26, 200519 yr I hadda Klipsche 5.1 system on my desktop, it comes with dual 8in subs, but you can easily throw any subs for it, just pull the amp (It screwed to the subbox) and the wires have regular connectors, so just add wire to whatever you need. I had a couple of Power Acoustic MOFO 12's running off of the stock amp...not alot of power but still hit very hard. Also, it has a single RCA output, so you can get any home audio amplified sub, and hook it up no problem...the whole system was like 550 watts...very very loud.you will need a compatible sound card also
