June 5, 201015 yr If the port area is 32.5in^2 how long do I need to make it to get 30-31hz??? This is for my 12" DCON.How many cubic feet of airspace is your box? Port width and height?
June 5, 201015 yr Author The box is supposed to be 2.25ft^2 and the port is not built thats what Im trying to find out, how big do I need to make the port to get 30-31hz The tech page says 32.5in^2, but how long do I make it??? What more info do I need???
June 5, 201015 yr just put up all the box dimensions and what sub/subs.Slot port/round port? It's okay to give too much info. lol
June 5, 201015 yr Author OK heres the deal, the box isn't made yet. That is the info I need to know, what size and what port deminsions, all I know is it;1.NEEDS TO FIT UNDER THE BACK SEAT OF A 2002 GMC SIERRA EXT. CAB2.I WANT IT TO BE TUNED TO 30-31 HZ3.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING AND AM USING A SHOP TO BUILD THE BOX4.I'VE NEVER HAD A CUSTOM BUILD PORTED BOX MADE, I USUALLY USE SEALED BOXES5.IT WILL BE HOLD 1 SSA DCON 12" DUAL 4OHM SUBWOOFERanything else that needs to be known???
June 5, 201015 yr Unless you can give the maximum dimensions you have in your truck, it is impossible to tell you what you are asking.Yes, port length is what tunes your enclosure, but the port also takes up box volume. There is no set length that = 31hz. That is enclosure dependent.Time to get out your tape and go measure bro. That is the only way anyone can help.
June 5, 201015 yr IF YOUR USING A SHOP THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO CALCULATE PORT LENGTH FOR YOUR ENCLOSURE!
June 5, 201015 yr Author IF YOUR USING A SHOP THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO CALCULATE PORT LENGTH FOR YOUR ENCLOSURE!He's got a program for it, but he needs the sub to hook it up to and it's been two weeks since I ordered the sub and it still isn't in yet.
June 5, 201015 yr Can't they take the T/S specs off the SSA website and calculate? You may want to think about going sealed.
June 5, 201015 yr Yeah, I dont understand why they need the woofer. All the info is listed in the shop for them. That sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me. You are in LA, why dont you hit up Quentin at Audible Customs for a box. He does not need the sub to build the box. lolEdit to add Argent has been pounding out some nice ones too. Hit them up.

Hit them up.Do that ! Look at their forum here, they both have their prices listed. They really know what they're doing, not like your shop !! They make fantastic enclosures!!!
June 5, 201015 yr You don't need the sub to figure out port specs. The woofer has nothing to do with how a box is tuned.
June 6, 201015 yr Author He tried to get the T/S specs off the net, but his computer at the shop sucks, so he told me not to worry, he would look them up at home and build the box Mon.Thank you all sooo much for your help, its been raining down here for like 4 days and I think I was just getting stir crazy, lol.
