Posted June 25, 201015 yr I saw a thread somewhere about it but can't seem to find it. Any more info on these ??

June 25, 201015 yr For real popcorn indeed. Be on the lookout for my new build. I will be posting pics as soon as I know what is going on with things.Kef
June 25, 201015 yr I just have a little ol' DR 18" i have been waiting to build an enclosure for, but the wife keeps finding me more to do all the time ....
June 25, 201015 yr Inverted 21" with motor sticking out between the seats anyone? With that new look DP motor, that is the only way to mount that monster!
June 26, 201015 yr Author I'm wondering if there was any motor force sacrificed for the better cooling.
June 26, 201015 yr I'm wondering if there was any motor force sacrificed for the better cooling. The magnet itself is not needed for cooling, all the cooling channels are in the magnetic gap of the top plate.
June 26, 201015 yr Author Exactly so why cut such large slots in the motor structure ? Obviously its for cooling purposes, if not then why do it?

July 1, 201015 yr Knowing Nick and the IA crew I doubt they lost any motor force with the new design. There are ways to make up for any cutting that was done, and I'm sure they took all that into account.
July 2, 201015 yr cooling is extremely important when you design a high output woofer..seems like its a good balance of cost, cooling and still getting enough flux density.. i wouldn't expect a qes of .25 but its really not needed with the proper design..Id say that its going to be in-between the old DP and the warden..
