Posted September 3, 201015 yr Here's two boxes that I've built in the past 2 weeks.Tell me if these boxes look any better than some of my very first boxes.Definitely looks better then some of the first ones. Paint the port so you don't see bare mdf, and cut the carpet where it meets the port entrance. Just my two cents Will do Also it all really depends on the sub but I'll throw an example out there. Lets say a guy wants a ported enclosure for his Fi BTL 12 and he's only running 1200 watts rms to it. I would make a box that is 2.85 cubic ft and tuned to 34 hz with 18-21 sq inches of port area per cubic ft.. But like I said all subs are different.
