^These can take a lot

Theres about 5 completely different drivers listed under "exodus" on that site, each driver is different.

If you want answers then be a little more specific... Any driver can take more then rated, burping or daily? smaller enclosure, increased power handling, I'm sure you know all this already...

Sorry was talking about the Shiva-X2 12"

I know the original shiva made by adire had excellent sq, and I believe this shiva-x2 is a direct replacement.

I read through the owners manual: http://www.diycable.com/main/pdf/ShivaX2.pdf And there pretty vague about power handling, I see a powermax not sure if that's max power or rms. If its max power then who knows rms..

In the manual they don't want to give a number for power rating as so many variables come into play, I would say the only way your going to find out is by testing.

Good luck

Actually the Shiva-X really has nothing in common with the Adire Shiva other than the name. The Shiva-X is actually much more comparable to the Brahma series.

The subs are excellent. I run a Shiva-X (original version, not the -X2) in my car and absolutely love it. High quality design and build, great sound quality, and more than sufficient output for my needs. Plus Kevin @ Exodus is a really helpful guy and great to do business with.

As for power handling, why do you ask? Keep in mind they were not designed to be an SPL monster. I run mine IB so I'm not using a level of power anywhere near the driver's thermal limits. You really shouldn't need more than rated power to get the driver to do what it was designed and intended to do.
