Posted November 6, 200519 yr This has been bugging me so help! For my daily driver SQ system I need to power:12" Soundsplinter Rl-p --sealed7" Seas W18e0001 -- IB in custom kicksAlpine F1 Status Tweet D2904/61001 on a pillarsOld School Amplifiers I have already--power listed at 4 ohms:PG zx475ti -- 75x4 , 250x2PG M44 -- 55x4, 160x2Alpine 3032 -- 30x2Sony XM-3520 -- 35x2Pioneer GM-2000 -- 50x2My current setup has the zx475 running the Rl-p with 250w on ea coil and the M44 bridged running my front stage passive. I plan on using the setup as is but going active and using one of my other amps for powering the tweeters. My concern with the Alpine is the lack of gains and its size. The others I hadn't really considered using but could be swayed. My options: 1) Use what I have--or keep for later2) Buy a new tweeter ampWhat do you think. If you want me to buy an amp, please recommend!
November 6, 200519 yr Author My only problem with that is I run out of amp mounting space and 160w x 2 is way overkill on the tweets. I would prefer to run the mids of the 475 though. The bummer of course is my PG M25 died which would have been perfect
November 7, 200519 yr Author True, but then I should sell it and get a 2chn instead of 4. Edited November 7, 200519 yr by ///M5
November 7, 200519 yr Author Chit, I left the best extra amp off the list. I even found my old birth sheet for it. This is of course what stemmed me to place the post in the first place. I have an old RF Puch 150HD (build date 9-16-1991). Birthed at 190 w/chn 2ohm otherwise rated at 75wx2 4 ohm. Would this sound okay to drive me tweeters? My understanding is that it is of vintage enough to still be a decent piece, but want to make sure before putting it into my car especially since it will be playing from ~2k+. The footprint is the right size too!
November 7, 200519 yr Author I assume then you mean the RF is okay? If so, as soon as I can get my glassing finished in she goes.
