Anyone have any recommendations on software to turn a VHS video feed into a computer to rip a DVD?

I need the software, hardware and it would be a bonus if it would work as a tv tuner as well. I have looked at Newegg and the like, but there are a lot of strange options and I thought someone might have done it already.

    I've heard Nvidia's recent offerings in this field have been pretty decent as well ...

    I definitely prefer the 6000-series over the Radeon X series for standard cards ...
