Posted February 18, 201114 yr has anyone used the 1/0 raptor wire? Just looking for some info on it. how does it compare to other 1/0 wiring out there? Its cheap but that isnt always good. Any experiences?
February 18, 201114 yr I would think that the more cheaper the wiring the less strands and the more insulation. Ive got about 20ft of some company called Gravity I have there 1/0 laying around and its something i would never use myself. It's about the same thickness but it looks like there is like 3000 strands, i know stingers is like 5200
February 18, 201114 yr Author yea, i kinda figured it wasnt that great just on the price alone, but for a budget kinda build with not a ton of power it may be something worth using??
February 18, 201114 yr Its definitely better than 4ga, I'd say it would be fine, the shop i worked at only used sound quest/stinger wiring (pretty much the same). if 17' is good enough i would get this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SOUND-QUEST-VL-0-GAUGE-AWG-POWER-WIRE-AMP-KIT-AMPLIFIER-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2c5ad6fa0fQQitemZ190502599183QQptZCarQ5fAudioQ5fVideo#ht_3522wt_1002
February 18, 201114 yr I've been wanting to go with this lolhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-0-AWG-16-FOOT-YELLOW-BOAT-BATTERY-CABLE-/190484825759?pt=Boat_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item2c59c7c69f#ht_2896wt_968
February 18, 201114 yr Author im not in the market really, i just put in an order with Knu, thats where all my wire comes from. But searching the new 1800 woofers.com website I see they sell raptor wire so i just had to question it a little, I have a friend getting ready to do a system also and he will need some 1/0. Plus i couldnt find any good reviews on it when searching.
February 18, 201114 yr Yeah they seem pretty cheap for rolls, install bay has 50ft for $60? that is cheap!!!
February 19, 201114 yr Raptor wire isn't bad, but it does have thick insulation. It's quite flexible (not as much as say Stinger Uberflex) and OFC.
