March 9, 201114 yr That foam looks like it's there to prevent rattle, hardly going to stop road noise from the trunk to cabin.
March 9, 201114 yr Author That foam looks like it's there to prevent rattle, hardly going to stop road noise from the trunk to cabin. If its there to prevent rattle, its somewhat failing. My Pioneer shakes the whole trunk sometimes (depending on the song). Some frequencies even make my gas cap shake in and out lol Edited March 9, 201114 yr by slim142
March 12, 201114 yr With my sa-12 that happens frequently, my vehicle doesn't have that plastic, is their maybe a way to remove it? And if you remove the carpet from the trunk, is there a perforated area in the middle? Edited March 12, 201114 yr by JDeuel20
March 12, 201114 yr I would also say that the foam on the top isn't doing anything to prevent sound, if any its very little, I also have been having some problems and I will try to get some pictures on in a day or so, just been really busy.

And if you remove the carpet from the trunk, is there a perforated area in the middle?I dont know. Thats why Im afraid to remove it. Might be connected to the area behind the rear seats (where the rear speakers are at)?I dont see how can I allow bass to pass through to the cabin. I cant wait to replace my pioneer with some xcons or btls but I wish I could find a solution for this too.
March 27, 201114 yr That plate comes out but won't make that much difference. What have you done aiming wise? How did you set your gains in both vehicles you are comparing?
March 29, 201114 yr Author That plate comes out but won't make that much difference. What have you done aiming wise? How did you set your gains in both vehicles you are comparing?Well, I have tried sub aiming the trunk lid, facing the rear sits, and facing the roof. Best position so far is facing the rear sits.To set gains, I play a 50hz tone (from Realm of Excursion) and set it a notch before the sub looks to be stressing.
March 30, 201114 yr Author "looks to be stressing"You can't see it happen...Well, there is a point in which I can increase the gain in the bass knob, but the sub wont get louder and it wont move more at certain point and seems to get stressed. But most of the time I will play my sub loud and using the volume knob on the radio I calculate the notch-before-the-burning-smell point.
