Posted March 19, 201114 yr I create a lot of bass lines in the 16-35hz range and need some good headphones to listen to the music a lot better than what i am doing now..I see the reviews for these are great but do i need to really get these for my goals? In a few hours from now, i'm planning on buying a used pair of these for around $150.I like them because of their insane power capability without the requirement of an amp. That's something i keep reading that many people like about them.. that and the fact on how low they drop.Any other headphones out there for my goals that may be cheaper without the need for an amp?
March 19, 201114 yr you got to go and listen to the BOSE ( I know) headphones , the rest depends on what the shape of your ears is ...I find a lot of headphones very uncomfortable .. so at least go to the shop and go listen to them ... note : Maybe you should look for pro dj gear or studio stuff ............
March 19, 201114 yr Check out HeadRoom; they sell a wide variety of headphones, with honest straightforward reviews and plenty of technical dataThe Senneheiser HD 25-1-II's would be an excellent choice for your application

March 19, 201114 yr Author Jjust bought those sonys u told me bout. I'm gonna go listen to them in bout 40min on music below 25hz and see how they performed un-amped
March 20, 201114 yr Author ok that was a long 40min, lol. They audibly play down to 9hz and i'm not the only one to confirm that.We tested them down to 5hz even though they are rated down to 4hz. Anything below 9hz is just mechanics. So, these headphones win in the bass area.I'm gonna listen to some music on them now and see how they are overall..I can go ahead and say they are VERY comfortable. They have so much padding on the ear, it's ridiculous.

March 22, 201114 yr I don't like those headphones particularly because of the weight, they were made for "bass" reproduction but can hold up well in the overall spectrum... The cushions feel like AIR on your ears... lol ... Perks of working for Sony is always playing with the random shit they release... I have some SA5000 can, V6, V700DJ, V600 and some "workout" style earbuds.... All are awesome in their own way... The cans I use daily are the Beyerdynamics DT 770 PRO .... Using a home theater receiver for output and it is hooked up to my computer..
