Posted April 20, 201114 yr So Ive been looking at numbers, maybe im way off.its .078ohms/1000ft ohms/1ft ------------ 12v 14v------------ 12v Amps--- 14v Amps 1-/0 0.00078 ------------ 12v 14v------------ 15384.61538--- 17948.71795------------ 205.1282051205A is at 75ft which is close to 250likemost charts say with the 1ft values are high as hell though.This looks more reasonable.1/-0 ------------ Ohms ------------ ------------ Amps 350A ------------ 12-- 14 ------------ ------------ 12-- 1450ft ------------ 0.034285714---- 0.04 ------------ 350-- 35025ft ------------ 0.017142857---- 0.02 ------------ 700-- 70012.5ft------------ 0.008571429---- 0.01 ------------ 1400-- 14006ft ------------ 0.004285714---- 0.005 ------------ 2800-- 2800So i know .078/1000 !=.00078... but the numbers were closer i suppose at first....Soo i doubt the first numbers are right.The second attempt was taking 350A at 50ft ohms law = .0342...ohms.Divide that is like adding another 1/0 wire halving the resistance..i think, so you get the halved impedance then E/R=IGuess it would be easier to cut a ft of 1/0 and get the actual resistance.Just me being bored.edit-its a chart when i edit it when it post it goes together Edited April 20, 201114 yr by djjdnap
April 21, 201114 yr interesting but who's got a DMM that's very accurate in the thousands?No matter how long of wire i've used in the past, even if it's 50ft, measuring resistance is just 0.000 so can't use mine, lol.
April 21, 201114 yr are we talking THHN, THCN, MCL what kind of wire? for car audio I assume? what will be the operating temp of the wire? need a lil more info and ill get you a answer
April 25, 201114 yr Author 100% copercopper coated aluminum.most wire is rated at what -40 deg C. to +90 deg C
