right now iv got a ported box that is 2.5 cuft after all displacements tuned to 33hz that im using with my 12" fi bl. do you guys think it would work good with a 12" fi btl if i were to upgrade so i dont have to buy another box. have anyone had any experiece with a btl 12" in a 2.5 cuft box? the site shows the same cutout dimentions and the same rec cuft. So what do you guys think of this desision.

How much power are you planning on running to it ? I'm too lazy to check and see Fi's reccomendations, but depending on your goals etc I THINK (cant really say without your goals etc) it would be ok. I don't know your available space or your tuning preferences so I can't really give a good answer. If you wanted to change it up why not just build a box. Is you current box strong enough to handle a BTL...as in is it braced and double baffled etc

yes it is a well built custom box made for a fi bl, my goals are the same as with my bl, just to have a nice daily driver application with some authority, im going to be powering the btl with a aq2200 with 2200watts, i was asking if anyone has had any experience with a 2.5 cuft box tuned to 33hz for a btl, yes the box is braced with double baffle. the specs are the same for the btl as is for the bl as far as box recommendations so im thinking i could use the same box but was wondering what i should expect out of it. space is not an issue because it is the same box and is already in my car haha.

Same power? Same box? No real change then mate.... If you're upgrading power just keep the BL ... might notice a difference.. slight though.. not much

well u should consider also the sub displacement, which is different from the bl

I don't see a big difference being made if using the same power.

If powers the same and your happy with the tuning go for it. Might not hurt to graph it out too, but that shouldn't be the deciding factor. Simple answer is if you were to build a new box for the btl would it be any different? If the same box is optimal then use it. If not I personally would build a new one, but that's my opinion. Good point on the displacent though. When I asked about space I didn't mean would your current box fit I was checking to see if you could potentially fit a larger box if need be

This box should be good enough for the btl. IMO Mine is 2.1 ft3 at 32 Hz. the btl seems to like it.

You should notice the difference too.

I had an SSA Icon recently, and I changed the sub for an Xcon on same power, same box : I noticed a big difference ! I loved it.

I can't see why you would not notice anything from a bl to a btl. the btl is not very big with the Neo magnet, and not so heavy.

just to let you guys know it will be a power difference of double, right now i have a dual 1 ohm bl thats wired to 2 ohms on my aq2200, if i were to get a btl i would get the daul 2 ohm and wire it to 1 ohm for a power difference of about a 1000 watts, and like is aid before i will have enough electrical with a 180a hp dc alt a kinetik hc1400 under hood and a bigger one in trunk with big 3 done, i know the btl is a little bigger inside the box but thats ok because the box is on the larger side of the recommended specs that fi lists, i thank everyone for their responses and hope to get a couple more opinions about the btl as far as a daily driver and other little details about it whcih will help me in my decision

the btl has a neo mag which is actually smaller than the bl but does have a deeper mounting depth so keep that in mind. It sounds like the easiest route since you can use ur same box. i say go for it

damn trod if you didnt order a bl id say just buy mine and everyone would be good haha and its only like a month old, sheesh i needa stick wit one sub already lol, iv had like 4 subs in the past 6 months, its just so fun to try out different subs to see whats out there, guess its my lil addition hahaha, worse then being addicted to drugs lol, thanks everyone for all the help i appreciate everyones opinions on here and happy subbin
