alright guys so i was pretty much set on 4 sa-10's in the trunk of my civic for my next project i want to do...until i came across the AA arsenal. I see that the arsenal works well in a smidge smaller ported enclosure which is good and also i see that the arsenal has a sensitivity of about 85db 1w/1w and the sa-10 is around 81 i believe. Not too sure how big of a difference that would be but on paper it looks pretty good haha. So my question to you all that may have had one of these or installed any is what do you think of the AA arsenal? Is it more of a sq subwoofer or is it more of a spl sub. How would it compare to the sa-10? There pretty much in the same price range and same rms with simular specs. Im trying to get louder while retaining some sound quality, so pretty much like 60% spl and 40% sq to put it into lamens terms. anyone with any info on these two please feel free to add your opinion or advise, thanks guys :)

well the demensions i have for a box that would fit is 31" long 15" high and 26" deep giving it about 5.6 total, the subs would be mounted on top with some aeros facing the license plate.

id just like to know the differences in the two, havnt really heard much about the arsenal but have heard good things about ascendent in general, you guys think the arsenal would get louder or will it sound better then the sa-10?

The look to be a close match based on spec. I would consider:

1. Price

2. How long wait time till you receive the product once you order. If you are in a hurry.

yea thats what i was thinking they would be pretty close matched i just havnt heard much about the arsenal line. Do you think that difference in spl of 81 (sa-10) and 85 (arsenal) would make any real difference in output? Iv relized that both subs are going to have great sound quality so its pretty much which one will get louder and have great low end extension

No that is only the sensitivity of the sub with only one watt. That measurement is not an indicator of how loud the sub will get. What determines how loud a sub will be is it's excursion along with the force(bl) applied to that movement.

For example a zcon is louder than an xcon even though it has less xmax. Because is has more force over it's stroke.

Focusing on one statistic to choose a sub will typically bring about bad results. I would take Audible Custom's advice and choose based on price and availability

OP, if you're curious as to why this is reading this might help :)http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/23363-before-posting-any-questions/

yes i understand and no i wasnt basing my decision off of one measurment, i was just asking out of the two what he thought might get louder in a proper enclosure.

Call Ascendant and ask. You need to call them anyway to locate a dealer and get a price.

4 skar 10's

^^ just to make his decision more difficult lol

plus i think they would build the enclosure for you for a good price
