Posted July 22, 201114 yr max dimensions are 17"h x 31"w x 27"di will be running a crescendo bc2000thinking pretty much the same thing anton miller has setup in his cavi it seems to be really efficient i want to be able to hit the low's really well so im thinking 30hz tuning ?this is what i have come up with so far 27w x 16h x 25d using 3/4 mdf should get me 5 cubes after sub displacement of .14 i should be at 4.72 using a 6" aero tuned to 30hz i need 14.5 inch flared and with port displacement i should be at around 4.5 cubes witch is max recommended for the sa-12'sif im doing something wrong please let me no i plan on building tomorrow
July 22, 201114 yr First of all: in my opinion that is not enough port area. Would you consider building a slot port?

July 22, 201114 yr i can send you a design for free just send me your email in a pm and no thats not enough port area
July 22, 201114 yr Author thought i would post a link of the box im thinking of making i believe he is using only a 6" aero ?
July 22, 201114 yr Author i did a while ago said on Facebook said it was 6" and 5 cubes i think btw i did pm you and what do you think i should use
July 22, 201114 yr Author let me work on the design and ill let you know what will worksounds good man anton said that where his port is placed gave him the highest spl btw apparently he does allot of testing idk im a noob lol so just throwing it out there
July 22, 201114 yr Alright I just found that. So we have 19mm xmax, two 12" woofers and tuning @ 30hz? I come up with 8.92 MINIMUM diameter if using round ports. If using slot port then 62.45 inches.

July 22, 201114 yr I would go with three 4" aeros. I buy mine from parts express. They are the psp brand. The problem you need with three 4" is they each have to be 22" long. Could you raise tuning to 33hz? This would mean you wouldn't have to cut them down, since they come in 17" kits.

July 22, 201114 yr Author in a 3.5cube box should do goodwhere do you get 3.5 cube ? im looking at 4.5also does port displacement effect tuning ? do you calculate port size before or after port displacementand what is 3 4" 22" long aeros going to displace ? Edited July 22, 201114 yr by smokey
July 22, 201114 yr Port size does effect tuning. So when figuring out box size you need to take size + port and sub displacement. Just adjust the total size and make it a little bigger. If you can't go bigger adjust the size to 4.25 and refigure port length and displacement will change.I have had great luck with two 12" SA-12s tuned to 32hz and 4.0cubic feet.

July 22, 201114 yr On my phone right now. I can recalculate here in a bit. If those are your max dimensions, stick with the numbers above. Tuning may change 1 to 2 hz but it won't be noticeable.
