Posted August 15, 201114 yr Here's the situation. I recently purchased a TV and surround sound system for my college apartment. I'm trying to get audio from my TV to the surround sound receiver via RCA. The problem is that the only audio output that my TV has is a coaxial output. The Receiver only has RCA inputs. Is there some sort of cable or converter type deal that can run a Coax cable and split into an RCA on the other end to put into the receiver?
August 17, 201114 yr Normal analog audio won't be on a single coax, if it is indeed a single audio output it is digital, especially if it is orange or geen colored. You would need a didgital input on your stereo. if it is an "F" type coax ouput (looks like a cable TV connector) than it isn't audio all together.Hope this helps....Normally if a TV has a digitial audio output it should also have an anolog output stereo set.Or is it an old TV with a single mono analog audio output? If that is the case, buy a "y" adapter.... Sound will be mono though....
