so a buddy has a w6 ten off of 500 watts and sounds pretty good what 10 would compare or yet beat the w6 and im going 1000 watts also dont want to spend an arm and leg for a sub any help would be nice

W6 is a nice driver. What I think of "an arm and a leg" may be more or less then what you think, so how about some numbers for your budget.

as for space its going in a 01 runner so im good there and for arm and leg like 300 and up and sq not so much more for loud spl

check the f/s section, something like a Fi BL, ssa Icon, etc can be found at a better value.

I'd look for a 12" ssa icon or Fi Q. Not going to take up that much more room then a 10".

Stefan's right, a 12" won't take up much more space and it's stupid to pick a size to match your buddy's. If you want SQ I'd look into something besides an SA series. Not knocking the driver, but it wouldn't be my first choice for SQ in a ported enclosure. Assuming you will be going ported.

Honestly get the 10" Icon well.. lol i guess not yet for the icon but.. look for a used Fi Q 10 maybe a fi SSD 10 in the f/s SA-10 good choice as well. I say go for an Icon or used Fi Q/SSD if not then pick up an SA-10 good price and fast plus you wont be disappointed with any sundown products.

Oh yeah, that's not too hard to do.

I kind of have a feeling he wont listen to our suggestion of a 12"... once you get in your head that you want to compete with you friend and beat his 10 with a "better" 10, i have a feeling he will end up getting a 10..

A 12" would be a much wiser decision in the long run as you will eventually regret buying a sub just to beat a friend with a 10. my 2 cents, get a 12" xcon used and make him pee his pants.

Ummm yea, lol. The W6 wasn't designed for output by any means.

W6 was made to sound very clean and clear while still putting out a great deal of power for it's class. Not designed as a spl sub in any means.
