Posted September 11, 201114 yr I have a ssa dcon dual 4 ohm and I bought a mtx thunder 3401 momkblock amp from a friend. I want to wire it to 2 ohms. The amp has two pos and neg outputs. Idk how to wire it. Do I wire it as if it's bridged and do pos of first two outputs with neg of the second two outputs?Just got it today and I did wire it the way I said and it doesn't sound as if it's pushing the full 400 watts. If anyone can get me a wiring diagram for this amp that would help
September 11, 201114 yr The extra terminals are just to make it easier to wire, but you can just use a single set. Both the +'s are internally connected, as well as the -'s.
September 11, 201114 yr More than likely the outputs are internally paralleled. That means if you connected a 4ohm load to each output, the amp would "see" a 2ohm load, because internally the amp is wired in parallel. You would just want to connect the subwoofer to one pair of the outputs. You would not try to "bridge" the outputs.
September 11, 201114 yr Author Cool, thanks man. Yeah both the + terminals are next to each other and the - terminals are next each other. I might have to do some electrical upgrades to get full power out of that amp. It's all stock electrical in a 2000 landcruiser
September 11, 201114 yr Author Oh it's my uncle's car that i sometimes drive when I have alot of friends hanging out and that's usually Friday. I thought it be nice to add a lil bass to it.
September 11, 201114 yr Author Yeah he's the best uncle any nephew could ask for and im glad he's my uncle. off topic but he also was into car audio when he was younger. He messed with old school audiobahns rf and mtx. Now hes into drag racing which I might be interested in soon as well. But yeah I have to play around with the gains and stuff on the amp because the dcon doesn't sound as good as when my friend had it in his car and he was pushing less watts. But idk
