Hey guys, I'm in the process of deadening my trunk and I have a question. I have (2) vents in both rear quarter panels just below the floor line of my trunk. I plan on applying deadener all around those vents, but should I apply it OVER the vents as well? I know these things are designed to relieve cabin pressure or whatever, but what should I do with them? Here is a pic:

If you're chasing SPL and are willing to compromise the vehicle's function in that pursuit, seal them up. Otherwise, don't. If you're trying to stop noise, you may be able to implement a baffle on one side or the other that will help.

Thanks for the fast response Rudeboy, my goals are pretty much right in the middle between SQ and SPL, leaning more twords SQ. I think I will just deaden around them. Thanks!

I sealed mine up and when i would turn on the ac on its higest setting you could feel it push open the door a bit when you pulled the handle with no outward pressure. Mine ratteled alot could be an issue depending on you setup and car as well.

Thanks, yeah, I will definitely keep them uncovered. I left the vents alone in my F150 and had no problems.

What setting on your ac? Cause Ive watched my vents and I think I could sell them if I only use recirculate.

High Recirculating. It didnt happen when it was on any other speed or atmospheric draw. It didnt bother me having them sealed I dont see any problem with doing it..

Ok cause I'm thinking I'm about to seal mine off on my truck cause they flap when the bass hits.:(
