I'm wanting to know if I build a box like this and would it be ok with the ports like this. It would go in a 95 honda accord

9.67ft^3 gross, 7.34ft^3 after ports, after bracing somewhere between 7 and 6.5cubes after bracing, depends on if i invert it or not

thanks for any suggestions or comments

i would suggest 45's inside the port as well as round over on the port mouth (or kerfed) and inside port wall (where it turns 360)

t-nuts for the inverted mount......

um, some folks might disagree with the dual slot ports, stating the surface friction will be greater than a single....

thought any on aeros, less port area will be needed, thus less displacement within vb.

i dont remember if you compete any, this is just daily driver and demos, right?

if it is carried through as your other build was, same quality, i am sure it will look great!

did you leave any room in the trunk for other gear? lol

how can i get a image og the xcon like that? i want to get the 3/4 profile view for a tattoo ....

looking good so far....

oh, what is your bracing going to consist of?

3/4" all-thread, when used right, can add alot of strength and not displace alot of air, imo.

gl w/ ur build !

yeah its for daily and i just wanna do the the slots for the looks but i might end doing the areos ports , i haven't came up with any bracing ideas yet and i got the image from the enclosure designs sketups from ssa

right on.....

i know looks are important, i would assume one would be hard pressed to find an audible differance between the two slots vs one. (lot of elbow grease for sure)

the aeros do add a little appeal imo, but also add cost, and tend to take up less space, lol, several considerations for sure.

i will look into the image of the xcon, thanks for the help ,

will be watching for this come together!

I came up with another design,

portedxconboxportlength-1.png

portedxconboxoutsidedemiensions.png

xcon50.png

I would use one of these for the port & i would try to cut it at 45degree angle and fiberglass the 2 ends together

thanks for any comments

I personally like the tubing design better.

I'm not saying that dual ports are impossible, or even have an audible difference than a single port, but with the design you presented, I feel as if if the ports are set up backwards, you would be better off having the inside port opening (aka inside the box) closer to the sub instead of the wall because you are creating a port restriction by blocking off the pathway of air with the port itself.

Just tossing this thought out there, is the height restriced to 18.5"??? Because using 3/4 mdf and your design your front baffle is only 17" tall, that doesn't leave any wiggle room for driver placement.
