""looseness" and our drivers don't go hand-in-hand. Looseness or boomy bass in ported enclosures is a factor of one one or two of the following: the driver; the enclosure. When either of the latter aren't working you have the boomy response that is associated with a lot of the big-woofer, ported-enclosure frame of mind. Take one of our 15's and put it in our recommended enclosure and you'll have a hard time finding any room for the words "boomy" or "loose" unless you built the enclosure wrong or have horrible amplfication/processing. "

you say if its in a rec. enclosure. what do you think about if i had 2 15 mags in a single 9 cuft net enclosure tuned to 30hz with 150 SI of port area. thats my plan for right now. and i want to do interchangable ports so i can drop in a 40-45hz port with 180SI or port area for comps. i will be using 2 1000/1s form JL daily and maybe a different amp i can wire to 1/2 ohm load for comps.

reason i ask is because i am still very SQ inclined even though i love it loud and hard lol. i like the punchy bass in rock even though i dont listen to it and i also like the lows like late night tip and even lower songs. im going from an avalanche 15 from ascendant audio so you have big shoes to fill. i hope you can get the job done, i think so. but unfortunetly i cant afford them for a few months because im starting up a small install business. being that im only 17 all my money is going into that until i start making money from it.

thanks in advance.

You don't need anything larger than 4 cubes each for vented use. Making it 9 cubes will just result in a slight peak near tuning. Knock it back down to around 4 cubes each and lower tuning to/around 27/28 Hz and you'll be good-to-go. :rockwoot:

If you want it accurate, loud, and low, then you're looking at the right subwoofer company. And when I say loud and low, I mean LOUD and LOW! The 4 15's we have in our living room are just sick - it seems like the lower you go the louder they get.

where do the MAGS like to be crossed over at? ...i do hear the like lower crossover points like 60hz or so ..? being as i havent heard one is this true?

60 to 80'ish is just fine. Any desire to run them around 100 Hz and you need to look into bigger/better midbass drivers. :)

i liked mine at a 100hz @a compounded 24db slope at the HU and a 36db slope db at 125hz from a external crossover. or 80hz@ 12db slope plus the 36db slopeat 125hz.
