Welp, ive decided to ge rid of the chitty MDF look in my truck but all the funky bends in my ports is cutting back on my potential SPL and probably is adding a little noise at high levels though i cant detect it because of rattleing....so ive devided, new enclosure time while im sintalling some SPectrum and Damplifier in my truck along with some open celled acoustical foam (cheap stuff, not Second Skin's stuff) foam between the back metal and the plastic interior panel to help trap waves in that little area and padd the smacking between the metal and the plastic.

ive told you all that because i want to eliminate any possible port noises and gain SPL by having the least ammount of bends possible. It works out perfect because i will have to take out my enclosure to put spectrum on the back metal anyway. :fing34:

Ive been messing in WinISD and it says 4 4" ports flared on both ends will yeild a peak air velocity of 72ft/sec which seems kinda high, but aeroports are smoothed and all to stop any whistleing so im looking for some opintions.

i could also do 3 5" if they made 5" aeroports.

or even 2 6"...

And this is all assumeing i can get 7cuft net from my space back there.

Actually im REALLY likeing 2 6" ports, if i use my DEI 1100D it would look very clean to have a 6" port on each side of the box with the DEI flush mounted in the middle in an amp rack, i could use tinted Plexi to cover it with a light that turns on with the REM turn on so you can see it so im not advertising the DEI to the world .

And the ft/sec is 65 peak with 1kw

Also, should have them firing forward or up? im hoping to have this enclosure finished by dB drag fernendina because im gonna run Street C just for chits and giggles. :lol2:

Kicken' and everyone else is gonna kill me but oh well. :peepwall:

So i'd just like your opinions, suggestions, etc... its going to be painted in truck bed liner with ascendant logo's on it.

:WELCOME:

come back when u have pics

So then we can all be like :lickscreen:

and then u'd be like :hyper:

but then we know and be like

and then ud get all weird and go :poop:

and then we'd say :okasshat:

and u'd be on the toilet like

and there be no toilet paper and ud go

but then u would just use a napkin and be like :peepwall:

but i bet everyones gonna read this and be like :ugh2:

but i dotn care and will come right back wt a :hay:

but any way, i really want to redo my enclosure as well, im sure it could be much louder, but good luck :runlaugh:

^ Very informantive post...

LMAO

Why do you insist "on each side of the box".

Don't do it. If you want to meter high...have them firing towards the driver's rear side-wall.

I'd use two 6" aeroports...on that side.

im talking about both upfiring, the enclsoure will have to be 49" Long (i just drew it up) and will be 7.5cuft net@ 30Hz, i will actually gain low end with the higher tuning and larger airspace. and my peak will stay at around 40Hz (im comparing my old enlcosure to my new in WinISD, not the best but im looking at a round about idea) and i will be able to get more excurison from the driver. My cab is only 51" wide where the ports would be comming out for your reccomendation, do you think i will have anny issues?

now that i think about it 2 6" holes arent sexy... just a flat top with ascendant Logo's would be sexier.

also, where in the hell can i locate 6" Aeroports. they will need to be 17.5" long.

well looking at the cost or work time to do 6" ports im thinking a single 11x6 out the drivers side. flared and rounded. :domoslay:
