Posted November 14, 201113 yr Alright, so somebody in my class is looking for a subwoofer for his 1500 reg. cab. He will most likely need a shallow mount subwoofer im thinking, but i havent been able to find a build log of a regular cab so i can get some ideas for where the box is placed ect. Im not really knowledgeable on shallow mount subwoofers so id think id ask you guys. He was looking for about a 12" or 15" sub. If you need more information just ask.

November 14, 201113 yr Author No back seats sir, Its just the single cab, So i was thinking about an enclosure just behind the seats. So i guess im mostly looking for good brands with shallow mount subs?
November 14, 201113 yr First thing to do is take some measurements. Figure out your depth restricions and the size of enclosure you'll be using. Then figure out what your friends goals are for the system and a budget. You won't get any solid reccomednations without that information.
November 16, 201113 yr I'm doing an install in a '93 1500 single cab. What I decided to do, is use 2 8's that are down-firing and port on the side. The 8's will be to the edge of the box, but this way your not limited to a shallow mount sub. Edited November 16, 201113 yr by splxtreme
November 16, 201113 yr I suggested the JL TW5 and i think he is gonna try that out.Have you taken any measurements, are you sure he needs a shallow mount?
November 16, 201113 yr Author Ill ask him to take measurements today, but its a regular cab, there is not alot of room behind his seats at all. lol
