So my buddy had his system stolen and he gave me 2 recone kits for some 15" orion hcca d4 subs...since i got them for free i was wondering if there was a custom basket and motor i could use? Or what basket and motor would fit? Please help cuz i know these recone kits run around $150 so its a lucky break on my side

More than likely will only fit the Orion driver.

Sucks! Would of loved to see those guts on a different setup...the orion sub always seemed bulgar to me...

Since the recones were free it would be a much wiser decision to sell the recones and put the $$ towards purchasing something useful rather than trying to cobble together a subwoofer with free parts just because they were free. Any $$ you sell them for is pure profit, so you're not loosing anything other than spending money on a basket and motor and having a poorly performing mix-n-match sub.

Or find a pair of blown drivers that the recones are made for and drop the recones into them. I don't know why "custom" cobbled together subs with random parts became popular, but they are almost never a good idea.

^^^ listen to good advice.
