I have been reading alot about DLS speakers, and was wondering if anyone out there has used them. mainly the componets sets. if so any feed back would be a help...PS. im looking for SQ sound qualty. thanks

Haven't heard them before, I think there a Scandinavian company, not that that means much.

SQ is relative, what have you heard in the past? What did you like, dislike? What's your budget? Goals? Mounting depth restrictions, speaker size?

5.25 is the size im looking for an diamond has a nice sound to me..but wont to try somting new. dint like pioneer, rockford, kenwood comps

Diamond has gotten worse since they were bought out a few years ago...

I would check out Hertz, Morel, Old diamond stuff like d9 components, image dynamics.... I'm sure there are plenty I am forgetting....

From my guess you like the sound of soft dome tweeters vs metal tweeters (just a guess based on the brands you listed as liked vs disliked)....

With components, your tweeter is everything imo.

If you get a chance check out hertz as well, probably my favorite sq oriented speakers... They are a little hard to find, but they are amazing speakers, and probably the best mainstream sq oriented speaker for a reasonable price.

I could be wrong but I think you'll have to go used at that price point. At least for Hertz

im cool with that as long as they aint beat to hell.

True. Well start hunting. Usually they don't come up a lot. I'm assuming they're that good.

Just one thing worth mentioning, there a lot of fake hertz drivers being sold online, especially ebay. If you find some used speakers, ask the person where they bought them from.

I'm currently using the DLS up6i's in my trailblazer. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_108&products_id=517 I've had them for almost 2 years now. I really like how they sound, even without a sub right now. They didn't take much eq'ing to get them to sound the way I like either. I've heard a few Morel's, Rainbow's, and some older Diamond's, and the DLS sound fairly good in comparison. Maybe not quite as much impact, or extension, but you'll still have to deaden the doors. They sounded much better after.
