Well..turns out my friend is selling 2 Dcons for a nice little price and last night I was set and stone on the one 15' Icon. So here I am today asking...which would be louder? Once again, bare with me as I'm kind of new to all of this. Thanks guys :)

Tha xcon is the best deal! :drink40:

Assuming you have enough volume for the dcons, and the enclosure alignments are the same, the dcons have more cone area, and more then likely yield more output.

You should think before you speak.

I would be getting the custom enclosure and let my friend build it for me. I'd still be using a 1500watt audiopipe amp. Is that to much?

As long as you have enough space for a proper enclosure, your good.

Headroom is your friend, you will be gaining down the amplifier, so no it won't be too much power.

Dcons are always overlooked because their price point, but don't let that sway you away, they sound great, and with that much cone area, they should still get excessively loud. :)

But i you only can do one driver the xcon is my choice. :eek5wavey:

I tried explaining Stef, I really did

Fine. I'll do it.

The xcon is an outstanding driver, but it's also in a different price bracket then a new icon, or a pair of used dcons.

You have a camaro, and I tell you a Lambo is faster. :WTFBubble:

How large of an enclosure are you able to fit in your vehicle. That's the first question to address. If you don't have the proper airspace for 2 15" drivers you'll be better off with the one 15" ICON.

My trunk is huge. About 54 inches wide and about 18 inches tall. Does that help?

Trunk eh?

Listing the trunk opening would help, that way we know what you can actually fit, unless you want to build inside the trunk. :P

I have zero experience with trunks, and I don't know if putting a large enclosure in the trunk that fills up the majority of the space, would cause any problems for getting the output to the cabin VS having a smaller enclosure and more space around the enclosure.

So normally I would have gone with the 2 15" dcons, but with a trunk, I'm not entirely sure what I would do. At this point hopefully others with experience with trunks can lend their advice. Good luck :)

Here is also a picture of the trunk. Same car just different color lol.

we need trunk opening size... I'd say if you're going sealed you would want to know your MAX height and width the most important... depth should be negotiable ...

width between wheel wells looks like your smallest point.. trunk opening seems bigger and we need your height max

Yeah I would completely rethink your build before making a purchase.

There are a few options with trunks, some of which work well in one situation or goal, but not in another.

It looks like the trunk is open to the cabin with the rear seats down. I'd be tempted to fire forward (assuming the height allows you for 17" 1"+15"+1"), with the enclosure space back several inches from the rear seat in the up position, and seal it from the trunk.

Which may sound great with the rear seats down, but not so much with the rear seats up. As I said before, I'd let "trunk experts" offer their advice. :rofl2:

Max height would be 18 1/2 inches. But the trunk opening is 47 inches wide up near the back window

Exactly, you have to be able to get the enclosure inside the trunk first. Just take some measurements and figure out what size enclosure will fit inside given the opening etc and go from there. Choose whatever works best given your space limitations.

What vehicle do you have. I will more than likely know if it'll fit or not

Okay, you need to know the wheel well width because that is the smallest width it seems from the photo... :eek5wavey:

X2 I've done a lot of trunk builds.
