Posted January 19, 201213 yr Last time i made calculations I didnt account for a few things including the end correction of my slot port. I hope somebody with a lot of enclosure knowledge can help me out with this.Port Area 126 inches2Port Tuning32hzPort Internal Dimensions 9” x 14” x 39.85”Port Displacement (8.25” of the port will be external)(31.6” Internal Port)9.75” x 15.5” x 14.25” =1.24625651 cubic feet9.75” x 15.5” x 12.1” =1.058 cubic feet 1.24625651 + 1.058= 2.30 cubic feet + 0.18 cubic feet (Subwoofer Displacement)= 2.48 cubic feet (Total Displacement)Subwoofer Dimensions Needed (9.23 cubic feet)36 x 15 x 35.75 = 9.231 cubic feet before displacement9.231 – 2.48= 6.751 cubic feet net
January 22, 201213 yr I'm at 32.92 Hz with that calc (in bassbox pro6) , so port needs to be a tad longer , with the same internal volume you need a 42,77 inch long port including flarescould help a bit more but need thickness of walls
January 22, 201213 yr Author Im not using aero ports first of all.. And have you made sure to adjust for end correction too? Walls are 0.75" thick. Edited January 22, 201213 yr by MikeMartel
January 23, 201213 yr you should really considder seriously rounding of those ends . I was wondering if this is going to be a box for comps because port is rather large , take airspeed up to 24m/s in port so the port can be a lot smaller and thus shorter , safe/efficiciennt enough for dailythat box is only 0,75 thick all round ? I'd up it to at least 1inch and brace it well with rods end correction was used . I'm off very seldom , and when it happens usually the builder did something wrong , I'm no genius though .
January 24, 201213 yr Author Alright, according to the calculator im using i need 39.85" long of port, I guess thats why im off a bit according to your calculator.
