Posted March 12, 200421 yr ok im runnin low on resources to complete my install..so i was thinking of ways to save some money...Im going to be runnin 2 amps...a BX1000D and an older PG QX4150fuses are 60 and 40the Brutus takes 4 gauge while the PG takes 8Now heres my question...i was gonna run 1/0 from the batt to the distroblock then split it into 4gauge and 8 gaugeNow instead im thinking of runnin 4gauge from the batt then split it at the distro block into another 4 and 8 gaugeAnyone against doin that?
March 12, 200421 yr the 4 guage power wire is the right way to go----buy a 1 4 guage to 4 8 guage distro block---then use the 4 guage for the BX1000D then use 2 8 gusge wires for the PG---do the same with the ground wires(that way you are maximizing the input voltage) hope this helps
March 13, 200421 yr Author i never thought of using two 8 gauge wires....im not sure if they can fit but i will give it a try
March 14, 200421 yr i never thought of using two 8 gauge wires....im not sure if they can fit but i will give it a try use ring Terminal ends on the wire---then just lay them over each other into the amp---alot easier that way. Dave
