Posted February 7, 201213 yr Well, i think its time for a custom box. The current box was made for 2 12" w7's. my speakers are 10cvx122 kickers. specs are min port, 1.75+port and max 2.25+port with the port being 63" sq x 20" long. figure that out. 87.32 spl, 3.74 Revc, .0507 Sd M, 18.62 BL TM, 57.98 Vas liters, 28.44 Fs Hz, 197.28 Mms Grams, 10.209 Qms, .38 Qes, .3665 Qts, 15.4mm XMax. whatever all that means, lol. The max dimensions in the truck are ______14____ and about 4' wide maxx. / l / l 1-1.5' / l /______18_____l Also have another question, are they ok to fire sideways? was told by others not to fire sideways as this will make voice coils rub. I kinda would like to make them fire up for asthetic reasons, looks better but whatever works. I am gonna push them with a saz2500d, 2 d3100's, lot and lot of 0-gauge, and a 220 amp powermaxx alt. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as far as building it. I have my trusty neighbour. he builds all of his own furniture and said this would be no problem as long as we can get some dimensions, and my money, lol like i said, any help greatly appreciated and all i wanna do is bump really hard!
February 7, 201213 yr Author _____14__l ll ll l 1-1.5'l l___18____l and about 4' long. showed up wrong. suppose to look like a trapezoid, but this is the best i can do
February 7, 201213 yr Spend a few bucks with Ram Designs on this forum, and he can make you an enclosure design, and cutout sheet.Tell him the drivers your using, your max dimensions, and firing and port orientation wanted.
February 7, 201213 yr the firing sideways. true or not true?I'm not sure what you mean by having the subs fire sideways. Can you elaborate a little.
February 7, 201213 yr Author Cool. I ordered/sent order to ram, after reading his website and checking it out I think I AM A get his box. Looks like it will be a beast for bumpin. Hope so anyway. Thanks for all the help. Greatly appreciated
February 27, 201213 yr Author Ok, so I went to ram designs and had Ryan lay out me a box. Built it this weekend and installed it. Still have not been able to run the 0 gauge for the sundown so I am still using the zx500.1. WOW. What a huge difference. Even as far as the distorting sounding. The amp is o-scoped so I know it's not clipping, but rather "distorting" if that's the correct term. Now it really really hits hard. Lots of kudos to Ryan for the design and also a big thanks to ricksi30 and stefanhinote for sendin me to ram-designs. I can't be more pleased except when I get to install the sundown
