Posted February 16, 201213 yr I am looking for a new head unit for my friend who doesn't have much experience with audio. He has an 01 Dodge Ram Regular Cab...bone stock audio system. He has a budget of about $250. He is planning on eventually putting new speakers as well as maybe a 10 ported if he can fit it. Anyways...I was looking at the Pioneer DEH-P9400BH as it has 4V RCA Preouts and all the goodies like HD Radio Tuner, Bluetooth, Pandora etc...but anyways I thought I would get some advice from other more experienced people...any suggestions?
February 16, 201213 yr Pioneer does have nice units but the rca outs are notorious for having bad grounds. Are you just looking at single dins?

It's not a "bad ground" so to speak, they have/had a pico fuse that blows if you plug them into an amp that's powered on. JVC has some nice decks, as does Kenwood. Be sure to shop, you can usually find a model with a good internal crossover good usb support, etc. for a great price.
