Posted February 16, 201213 yr Im running my 2 channel planet audio anarchy 2600.2 amp with 2 pioneer 4 ohm dual voice coil subs TS-3002d4. The subs are wired to 1 ohm and im not sure what the amp reads it as when bridged. I wanna know if i should change the wiring of the subs or if i am safe the way it is. Safe meaning that i will not blow my amp. The amp's gain isnt up too much and the bass knob is about half. The subs sound really good when i play them but i just want to be sure i will not fry the amp. Any suggestions?
February 16, 201213 yr I think that amp is only bridgeable at 4 ohms.. I would either wire the subs in parallel-series for a 4 ohm final load if you're going to bridge it, or wire them each to their own channel @ 2 ohms. Just to be safe.. Just because the amp will work the way you have it, doesn't mean it's safe. Especially if you're going to be playing it at reletively high volume.
February 16, 201213 yr Author Okay thanks. I'm going to run them series tonight. I didn't remember I 1 ohm the speakers until this morning I just installed the system last night. The amp rms is rated at 1800 rms at 4 ohms bridged so it should still sound as good as right now.
