Posted March 1, 200619 yr What would be considered too small for a round port (in terms of diameter)? I'm trying to design a ported box (0.7 ft^3 ~ 24hz) w/ round ports for an RL-I 8" and the only diameter port I can use w/ a reasonable length is less than 1.5"...won't this create noise? I just can't imagine using a 1" port for that monster... What's the rule of thumb y'all?
March 1, 200619 yr Author welp, the only solution i can think of for now is to use two subs or find a different toy

March 1, 200619 yr wrap the port around on the outside of the box...be different...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Hey that is what I am going to do. Of course, my impression that the minimum should be more in the 4" range. Mike rec'd 15sq inches and a single 3" is only 7sq in. Of course with a 4" it is one heck of a long 'un.
