Posted March 1, 200619 yr hey guys the Recommended enclosures for the 15 SI MAG is:Sealed = 2.3 to 3 cubic feet.what is the advantage or disadvantage of going with 2.3 instead of 3and the other way around also.. any help is greatly appreciated
March 2, 200619 yr Larger size will increase efficiency and lowend extension. It will also decrease power handling slightly by providing less cone control. Obviously, the increased efficiency will offset the lower power handling.
March 2, 200619 yr Author so are you saying a in the larger box the sub wouldnt be able to hold as many watts?i need to fit a MAG 15 in herewhat would sound better the bigger or smaller or should i just go in the middle to get the best of both worlds? Edited March 2, 200619 yr by mustbenu
March 2, 200619 yr Any woofers power handling will go down the more you increase the sealed box volume. The more you increase volume, the more power handling decreases. If you're looking for a definitive answer other than what we have suggested go with 2.6 cubic feet and call it a day.BTW: What year is your teggy?
March 7, 200619 yr i have mine in a 2.8 cube box, with 1200 watts (give or take) from a mmats d 200hc, and it works good in that box. and get hella loud and clean as well. pics of the build are a must.
