Been reading lots of sketchy reviews about these lately. American company takes over and then quality goes down? Heard from a mechanic that if you buy these from autozone they are significantly different than from manufacturer

whhhatt..

nah .. they used to be made in colorado.. then they started making them in mexico.. from what i know now.. some are made in mexico some are made here...

i have not seen any true to life test to compair.. but people do say that the mexico made ones are not as good..

i personaly think they are over rated.. they were not the first to come up with a sealed cell AGM.. just the company that spend to the most in advertizing.. make sence??

they do have a Spirol cell technology or what ever but... so. is that indeed better?

there are plenty of companies out there that make juat as good batteries and better!! for around the same price,...

i personaly have used every batter optima offers... i mean ALL of them!!

and i no longer run optima. .,.... just saying.

Optima is the only brand we can find in my island with a real manufacturer warranty. As there is an official dealer here.

So, my next batt should be an Optima. The Kinetic, Batcap, and the others are hard to find, expensive and with no warranty here. :(

I think they are not so bad. A friend of mine uses a blue one for 7 years !!!!! He bought a big Xs power to have a new batt, but after only one year it died ! Don't know why.
