Posted March 2, 200619 yr Sup everybody,I have a question here, has any body used the 12" Pioneer TS-SW124D shallow sub? Mounting depth is only 3 1/4" and they run 350 watts nominally / 1400 watts peak. $200.00 Suggested price.http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/prod...7969819,00.htmlWhat about the Pioneer TS-SW1041D 10" shallow sub, it has a mounting depth of 2 7/8", and these run 350 watts continous / 1000 watts peak. $180.00 Suggested price.http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/prod...7969808,00.htmlI'm also curious with the Earthquake SWS-10 (2 11/16" mounting depth, 400 watt peak, $299), SWS-12 (3" mounting depth, 600 watts peak, $399), and the SWS-15 (3 1/4" mounting depth, 800 watts peak, $499). http://www.earthquakesound.com/SWS04.htmWhat about the Blaupunct ODw1000HP 10" Overdrive Series subs (200-600 watts, 2.2" mounting depth, $399) and the ODw1200HP 12" Overdrive Series subs (200-600 watts, 2.2" mounting depth, $449)? http://www.blaupunktusa.com/BlaupunktUSA/P...drive/SubwooferI've been looking into these lately, and I am wondering what some of you thought on these subs. I have a 1993 Nissan regular cab pickup truck with a bench seat and I am 6 feet tall, so wedge box is ideal here, but I can't have a huge enclosure with deep mounted subs. Space is limited and after reading up on some of the specs, these peaked my interest. I haven't heard any of these shallow mount subs before, and I am looking for feed back from any body who has heard them or used them before. I like deep pounding bass with a bit of sq (LSQ is what I'd like to achieve here), and I am sure this would be a long shot or pipe dream with these subs compared to most 10"-15" subs on the market. I know the prices are a bit steep for shallow subs (blaupunkt and earthquake's at least), but these are prices I got from the manufactures websites. Any input on these subs, especially with mini truck enclosures, would be greatly appreciated.Victor
March 3, 200619 yr rockford fosgate also has a shallow mount sub.Its the P3 so its not to bad.A guy on another forum im on just bought 2 of the shallow mount pioneers for his single cab chevy truck.
December 4, 200717 yr I have one of these in my 86 F150 single cab with a bench seat. It is powered by a 1400W Hitron amp, and 1.0 Farad Swiss Aduio cap. With this behind my seat i still have plenty of room. I have gone through multiple pair subwoofers untill I found this one(2 12" kicker cvr, 2 12" lightning audio, which are just horrible, and 2 10" Pyles). It fits perfectly behind my seat. Looking behind my seat from out side the truck it is almost impossible to tell that it is even there. I built a ported box for it and it sounds awsome. With it being right behind me, I feel every note that it produces. It takes a lot of abuse without even a whimper. It sounds way better than anything else that I have had. Just waiting till i have enough money to get another one. I would recomend these to anyone that has a small car, or truck that doesn't have a lot of room.P.SWith it turned up half way on my stero, it hurts to listen to it. The good thing is, five feet outside of the truck, you cant hear it. Edited December 4, 200717 yr by blue86f150
December 4, 200717 yr The new kicker ones are supposed to be pretty good and if you can afford 400 for a driver and dont mind a wait the new mags are gonna be shallow if i remember right
December 4, 200717 yr IIRC the bm's are gonna be even MORE shallow than the mag...also dont forget the sundown SD-1 v2. the preorder is gonna end this week on the 7th. im pickin me up a pair.
December 4, 200717 yr and the pioneers are junk...period. clarion makes a nice shallow mount, as does kicker, though it's deeper then most, it also handles alot of power and comes with a metal plate and gasket so you can gain room by removing part of the box behind the motor.the new si bms sound like they are going to be a winner, as do the sundowns...whatever you chose, don't pick the pioneers, you will regret it.wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
December 5, 200717 yr I have one of the Elemental Designs SQ10's. Sounds excellent and decently loud too for such a shallow sub.
