Posted March 31, 201213 yr Didn't find a category for this but it is somewhat a build log and there are no guidelines that say it has to be about car audio. So, I took a break from messing with the Camry for about 1 week or so....This is what kept my time...Let me know what you guys think...This was the original desk, second-hand but looks like it was maybe from Kmart or Staples... Notice the bow in the center? The desk was perfect for about 1.5yrs and I'm assuming the "compressed wood" could not handle the weight of my desk mount arm for my 24" monitor:Items bought at Home Depot:Transformation: Everything set up again:
March 31, 201213 yr Author Put some black trimon that bishWas actually thinking of doing that... Sadly after doing the whole project I feel like I want the shelves to be thicker... So I MAY re-do this in 3/4" birch or just add another layer of 1/2" birch and glue to bottom and stain... Not sure yet... We'll see how it plays out.
March 31, 201213 yr Author No...you text me at 1am. You get my demands lolForgot about 3hrs difference... lololol... Thought you might be in hibernation for the night already
March 31, 201213 yr Get some solid birch and use it for trim and you can run a brace(s) under the bottom. It gets you a finished look and structural integrity all in one shot.
