A friend of mine has just sold his 3 sets of Focal 6.5", and he wants to run P A speakers to be louder.

He runs an Infinity amp (4 x 125 w rms @ 4 Ohms) and don't want to change amp or to add one more.

He was going to get Beyma speakers (the pro series I think) but he wants to know what else can he get ? 2 sets of 6.5" speakers for the front doors. Nothing in the rear, except his 18" Soundstream XXX in a big ported box.

He want something that can be loud but with good midbass. The tweeters will be a set of Beyma available locally: they get sooo loud !

He looked at the sundown neo pro, but never listenend to them. Is it a good choice over the Beyma ?

What other options can he find ?

Thanks for your help.

He is not going for no SQ competitions, and will probably have to get an external processor.

I know nothing about P A speakers, but locally people use them more and more.

Budget : about $300 total for both sets of 6.5.

Can he get something larger than 6.5? In the realm of PA speakers that is far from a sweet spot in particular if you want any midbass at all. PA speakers give up frequency extension for sensitivity and normally make up for it in cone area. Exactly why you see a lot of 15" 2 way systems in the PA world. Not that I would say any of the 15" 2 way's are designed all that well as intrinsically it is a bad idea too, but it exemplifies my point. I'd expect a single 10" to do a way better job than the two 6.5"s unless they are run in a 3 way or more system.

I would like to hear the neo also. Pa speakers get loud from ruffly 300-2k.beyma (6mi100) gave me the best clarity in that range midbass and pa speakers just don't go together. I've tried b&c,eminence, audiopipe, oxygenaudio, selenium they all get loud.but if you want midbass sundown neo would be a good place too start

I've just talked to him. He can fit 2 10" in his doors.

Can he use 2 10" neopro Sundown with a powerful tweeter like the Beyma one ?

I don't know if the Sundown can play high enough. Got to check that. Hope they are available.

He does not want Audiopipe at all. Too much people use that here.
