Posted May 12, 201213 yr Im using 4 4" aero ports. The box I will be mounting them to is 38"x20"x20" with an 18" sub on one side facing up. The 4 wont fit in a line since their flare is 7"+, so my question is, should I do sub in the middle with the ports on the side of the box facing back 4 in a row, or can I make a square with sub up port up, Will having 2 ports closer to the sub than the other affect anything? or will air movement be equal between the 4? May 12, 201213 yr Having ports too close to the sub may cause unloading issues. What is it going in? Car truck? Need some more info.
May 14, 201213 yr Author Scion XD, 4 dr hatchback, Sub up port up, box is 38"x20"x20" I will have the sub on the far right and the ports on the far left in a square shape. That should be fine right?
May 14, 201213 yr Try mounting the sub in the middle and ports on the sides, all facing up.But another option may be sub up and ports rear firing if the depth allows.
May 15, 201213 yr Why not a slot? Having 4 sort of defeats the benefits in particular when you can flare a slot. Harde r to change the tuning later but it isnt so easy with 4 anyways
