Posted July 19, 201213 yr Hey guys... I'm about to do the big 3 in my pontaic g8 and the batter is in the truck.. The alt positive is no problem but I'm trying to work out the engine block ground..... What are my options without putting the wire under the car..... Can I ground the block to the chassis and double up on the chassis grounding points near the battery?
July 22, 201213 yr The problem that you're going to run into is that the body of the car isn't a very good conductor. To really have much benefit, you would want to run a negative wire from the battery back up to the engine. Seems like a pain, but otherwise you're not going to see the real benefit of the upgrade. You can run it right along with the battery (+) wire.
