Posted August 6, 201213 yr I recently got my system all finished and was wondering if there is an app or something i can download to get an estimate of how many dbs i'm hitting. I know some people that have termlabs but i don't wanna drive an hour for a 5 minute test.
August 6, 201213 yr No way without proper equipment. And what does it matter what you are hitting. Just numbers, won't make any difference as long as you are enjoying it. But if you get a change and you are still curious, then why the hell not.
August 6, 201213 yr The only accurate way is to use a TL. The SPL labs meter is said to be fairly accurate as well.
August 6, 201213 yr I used a Term Lab. Problem is, they won't read anything under 120db (IIRC, and this was 8 years ago). But mine would do 120+ @ 20Hz @ the listening position, so this wan't an issue... You can also get cheap handheld meters. But accuracy is a crap-shoot...

August 6, 201213 yr The software is the easy part. Getting an accurate measuring device is the hard/expensive part...
