I'm looking for a good component set to pair up with my SSA Xcon 10 for my 350z!

The doors have 6.5" speaker sizes, but I've also found custom door panels made for 2 speakers (looks like a 6.5" and a 5")

I'm planning to get the RF 600.4 amp so I'd be looking for something around the 150rms range

More speakers isn't always better. I would suggest putting all the money you would spend on 2 sets of speakers into one really nice set.

But what speakers would work well enough that I could hear them over the power of the Xcon?

What is your budget? What speakers have you liked in the past?

Almost any component set with a good amp behind them will be heard over the XCON. :)

I have Alpine Type R's right now. But I'd like to get something much better.

As for my budget, up to $600.

Like I said, amp would probably be the RF T600-4. I have the T1500-bdcp for the sub, So why not get the same product line?

So why not get the same product line?

Because you can spend less and have the same or better quality. If you need them to match, go for it. I'm assuming you will just run a single 6.5 component set up front so you don't even need a 4 channel.

Yeah that's true too.. What would you suggest as a better amp?

Rockford amps are very nice with some badass innovations in them, a lot of stuff the cookie cutter amps like Sundown, DC, IA, etc. can't afford to have.

Their component sets are also very top notch!

I've also always loved the Kicker upper end sets.

And either of those would be loud enough to hear over the sub?

I would have to say yes, I have a single set of Diamond D6 mids and stock tweeters in my PT, and I can hear them when playing my 2 18"s.

So a nice full set, with a nice powerful amp on them, you shouldn't have an issue.

You could even run each side on two channels bridged, so you have tons of power and lots of headroom.

Yes, as Drew already stated MOST amped components will be fine. I am not a fan of Rockford speakers, but that is my opinion. Try to demo what you can before you buy.

I just ask one favor of you, find the set you want, and find a local shop to buy them from. As long as they are reputable.

It helps support your local businesses and makes warranty and CS super easy to get.

These would also work well for him.

Now those I can agree with, I really like mine. :fing34:

Well then I'll be looking more into the SPX pros =D

And as for my local audio shop.. They wanted to charge me $1000 just to build an enclosure for one 12".. So I don't really go to them for anything, I'll have to find another audio shop!

That seems a little excessive. lol

Hey, if you can't find one close enough that is good, by all means, buy online.

I thought it was excessive myself, which is why I laughed at him then left.. Not the nicest thing, but if they aren't going to help work out a budget with me, then why should I give them my business..

But I'll definitely look around for another local audio shop and see what comes up!

Thanks for the kind words sir. :)

Excellent work in this thread Drew ... Very Impressive !!!

I would think any good component set would work. You just need to set the gains and crossovers properly. I can hear my IA components just fine over a 12 xcon.

IA's are only 85 watts rms each.

one thing i think everyone is forgetting is sound deadening. sounddeadenershowdown.com plenty of info here
