Yes I have a audiopipe 1800 watt amp and 2 12" alpine type r subs the are 1800 watts peak and 600 watts rms at 2 ohm and I was told this amp was to powerful for my subs just need help in adjusting the leveles so I don't blow them any suggestions or help I highly appricate it thanks

Setting amplifier gains is the very first permanent thread under the main section Amplifiers/ Head Units/ etc. It's a great read.

amp isn't too big for what you have. i've ran a Hifonics Thor per pair of 12in. Type R's before back in 05' and they took it. just make sure your x-overs, SSF's and gains are set properly

No matter how you set everything up you can smoke those subs with those amps(s). I would become firmiliar with what it sounds, feels and smells like to burn up your subs...

Honestly, any gain setting tutorial will cause more harm than good for many people due to false security you'll have. This isn't an opinion, it is just a fact of the way electronics work...
