So i am not to familiar with many brands so i would like a few options out there on some amps. What i am looking for is something that is cea rated at 13.8v. I don't need that much power i need 500watts either at 1ohm or 4ohm rated. What i am powering is a single sundown 10" e-series. Reason i need a amp rated at 13.8 is because its going in a 2012 corolla and toyota seems to regulate at a lower voltage which is around 13.8.

Your ear will not be able to detect the difference between 13.8 and 14.4 volt electrical output. Not a ton of 500 watt amps are stable at 1 ohm, and an amp that does 500 watts at 4 ohms is probably going to be a lot bigger than you need. Go to Sonic Electronix and check out Kicker and Rockford Fosgate Punch (not Prime) amps. What is your budget?

i would find a old jl 500/1

and thats ALOT of amp for that sub IMO. you could very easily use a jl 250/1

both would give you your power at 4 ohms and they have a regulated power supply

Also a great choice is a Alpine PDX-M6, they do 600x1 at 4 ohms or 2 ohms. Really nice amps and are very small.

Don't focus on CEA ratings.

You've just received 2 good advices !!! JL orAlpine ? It's up to you. It would be way cheaper toget one of those amps used. I think you can find great deals on some JL. Easily.

Good luck. Without any info about your budget, hard to tell you more.

Will open up your options a lot if you look for a 2-channel amp & bridge it, although it will limit future upgrades some. Many of them are also class D so efficiency will be pretty similar to any mono amp.

PPI 600.2 comes to mind. Sonicelectronix has them for $160 shipped.

JBL also has some good options in the GTO lineup. Believe they have a GTO7001(?) that does around 425w @ 4ohm but also 700w @ 2ohm for future upgrade possibilities.
