I have 2 FI BL 12's hooked up to a Hifonics 2500, running at 1ohm. They seem to max out with my stock electrical (granted i have the big 3 and 2 yellowtops in the back) Am i getting the full power out of the amp? I hooked the subs to my buddies car who is running full electrical and 3500 rms and it was insanely louder. What can i do to get more towards his level or atleast max out my amp to give the full 2500 rms to these subs...

If your electrical is up to par, and your amp has the gain set to the max before audible distortion then your at the limits of it, You would need a different amp, or possibly a second one if they are are strappable (sp?).

he's running my hifonics hifi 2500, hooked him up to the wagon to the crescendo bc3500 at1ohm to test the new enclosure we built lol was nasty loud for two 12's on the nendo!

Good 3500 > budget 2500

If you liked the way it performed in his vehicle better, then either design an enclosure that performs better in your vehicle or purchase the same vehicle he has to drive around in instead.

Well basically at full tilt on rap (Gain halfway up for no distortion) In the jeep, I drop to 12.2 average. Im running 2 yellowtops and a normal cell battery with the same specs of a yellowtop (just not a AGM) Big 3 upgrade, stock alternator, 1 strand of 0 guage power wire to back. The problem is that my voltage is dropping to low before the amp can reach its maximum power, so my subs are not getting full power...

and he literally back his car to mine and we ran wires to his 3500 cresendo amp lol. closed the back hatch and dammmm was loud, easy 144-145 at quarter gain

Would simply getting a 275 amp alternator fix the problem and let me get all the power i need??? i just want this shit as loud as it was with that crasendo man lol. Obviously it wont be as loud with the hifi but......still..

OP I would highly suggest an alternator if you plan on running over 1500-2000w. No matter how many batteries you have you will never be able to hold your voltage above 13v unless you have a better alternator. As for the amp, those hifi's are overrated a bit. If you are going to run hifonics I suggest at least getting the BRZ series. That crescendo is on a totally different level than your hifonics.

Missed that, but I agree he should get a bigger alt. Don't expect a large gain in output by just changing the alt though.

This. You may gain some on the meter but without actually upgrading your amp to something bigger you won't hear anything audibly. Though your subs will thank you for it as well, being that they won't be getting a clipped signal from the higher voltage.
