Posted October 8, 201212 yr I plan on running either one sa8 v2 or two v1.5s. They both would end up being about the same price ordering the 1.5s from woofercooker reconed. These will be going in a 4th order band pass. My question is are the v2s so much of an improvement that I should get one of those or would two 1.5s be louder? I was too focused on 18s while the whole sa8 train was going around so I missed all the info on them. Thanks.
October 8, 201212 yr Author I'm looking for most output with 1,000 rms or less. I was running into electrical issues with my old system so I had to tear it all out.Oh and I have the whole back of my escape to work with. Edited October 8, 201212 yr by djtomczak

October 8, 201212 yr Author What do you suggest? The 8s just appealed to me because they require little space and power.
October 8, 201212 yr You can get much louder for the same price. Buy a single 12 or 15 within your budget and you will be happier in my opinion. It just depends on your goals and the room you are willing to sacrifice. What is your budget?
October 8, 201212 yr Author My budget is 200 for an amp and 200 for a woofer, I can go a little over if needed. I'd like to use the least space possible but a fourth order sounds like a good project.

October 8, 201212 yr Aren't 4th orders louder then regular ported?Negative ghost rider, stick with regular ported
October 8, 201212 yr Author Guess I won't be going with a fourth order then. What do you suggest then within my budget and under 1000rms? I'm looking for loudest possible. What are the real advantages of fourth order anyway?

October 8, 201212 yr Aren't 4th orders louder then regular ported? No as Sean stated 4 times iPhone fail
October 8, 201212 yr Author It will take a while to decide between those two... But how about an amp now?
October 8, 201212 yr Author Would that amp be harder on electrical versus a different amp with the same power at two ohms?

October 8, 201212 yr As the others have said, in the space you have to work with you have significantly better options than one or two 8's in a bandpass. A pair of 12's or single 15" in a standard ported would be much better options in every regard.IMO decide on subs first, then purchase an amp. Leave your options open so you can purchase the amp based on the final load of the subwoofers you select.
October 8, 201212 yr Author Well looking at the woofers I'm probably going with the GCON because of the 3inch coil, and then the AQ750. Thanks Rick!
