Posted October 13, 201212 yr Which should i get. Just one set for my truck want it loud and to sound decent. Will be amping them. Thinkin of the incrim audio.
October 13, 201212 yr Components have a separate tweeter, crossover, and mid. Most coaxs have a mid with a tweeter in the center, and a capacitor to block the lower frequencies from being played by the tweeter. Components are almost always a better option.
October 13, 201212 yr Components are better bc diffraction from a coaxially mounted tweeter is the biggest cause of response errors. Ideally you want the tweeter and mid as close together as possible. The factory puts the tweeter high up in the door or in the pillar to bring the sound stage up so the sound doesn't seem like its coming from the floor. I'm pretty short and not really a SQ guy so I don't need my staging to sound like it coming off the hood of my car. A little modification to the factory mid location and mounting the tweeter inline with the head unit normally does a decent job of puting staging right above the radio for me.
October 13, 201212 yr Author Ok great thanks. Yeah im thinkin of coaxs will be fine in my single cab truck with two tens. Ive never ran cross overs so i dont really want to run conponents. I like to keep things simple
