ive always messed with pioneer head units. i just sold an old pioneer flip out and ready to buy something new because my old stock is not cutting it.

Entirely depends on what features you need and/or want.

Do you need Ipod control, for example? Do you need USB connectivity? Bluetooth?

What does the rest of your system consist of?

i have the iphone 4 and will be using it either through aux or usb for my music. i dont care anything about having BT i never used it previously. ill be purchasing the cd player , subs , amp all at the same time and getting the install done all at once. i have alpine type r coaxs in the doors and will be leaving them in for right now. gonna either be 2 10 sundown e's or a 12 on a mb quartz 1000d

Like Impious said, figure out what features you want and then compare the head units that are in your price range. It doesn't sound like you need/want to go active so that makes finding a head unit pretty simple.

I have a pioneer avh p4300 and it is supposed to work flawlessly with iphone 4. It does not. Video does not work and itunes messes up alot. Howecer pandora is great. I cant get anywhere with pioneer cust service. Emailing them is a joke and im not able to call during their hours

thanks for the input. i once had one of the top of the line pioneer flip outs, but honestly it got old because any system would make the screen hit back to the dash.thats why i was wanting to get the cleaner look of the double din. i think they look pretty clean in the 97-03 f150s

would it be better getting a little bit more of a high end cd player with all the built in goodies or just getting a cheaper cd player and running a seperate eq?

Yes the double din is sleek. I love the unit besides my video issues. Which its more of a bother that it doesnt work than an inconvenience, as I dont really use it.
