It was brought up in another topic I have, but they said they could get an 80 amp fuse to hold on a 3500 watt burp. I plan on competing in meca and knowing how this is done would be vital info to me. Let me know how its done.

Fuses pop or melt due to the heat generated by the current passi g thru them. A lower rated fuse will work for a burp bc the fuse doesn't have sufficient time to heat up.

Or you could just drill out the pop rivets and put a 80 amp casing on a 250 amp fuse.

That would be noticeable.

150A Midis vs 80A Midis are night and day difference.

I understand that it doesn't have time to heat up, but the experiences I've had when u have enough electrical to back high wattage they pop instantly.

That doesn't matter. Your alternator could be capable of producing 1 million watts and you could have a battery bank of a thousand batteries but if you don't have anything pulling current then no current will flow through the wiring.

Or you could just drill out the pop rivets and put a 80 amp casing on a 250 amp fuse.

I can't believe you just said that.

An underrated fuse will still blow. But you can use one smaller that is just big enough to last long enough to get a score.

I was being sarcastic. I would hope any judge would be able to see the difference.
