i went ahead and purchased the 6.5 type r component set. this will be my first component set and need help on the tweeter placement.i already have a hole for previous install where a crap tweeter was placed so i was wondering if i should place it there on picture 1 or on picture 2 in the door somewhere by where i have marked. also should i leave the door "grille" or cut it out. ive been thinking about cutting it out anyways. just looking for some input

Take double sided tape and move them around until you find a spot where they sound best to you. Cutting that grill won't look that good so I wouldn't suggest it unless you plan on cleaning up the opening somehow.

i was thinking about doing option 2 because of the angle on that pillar piece it points more toward the windshield so i figured it would have better response in the door. i have been wanting to fiberglass the doors to have a clean look for the speakers, but i dont figure ill tackle that since i have no experience fiberglassing

fiberglassing tweeters in A pillar are much easier then doing doors. get some velco, double sided tape, or that blue tacky stuff for hanging posters on walls, and try the tweeters in different places and try different angles (on axis to off axis).

no way to tell until you give them a listen. pro's and con's to both locations

you could also try the sail panels by the mirrors or higher in the door.

Sail panels are my choice for wiring ease. A pillars usually provide better imaging

ill definitely give the doubled sided tape a try before i decide on a location. i just figured since the angle is taking it straight to the windshield it wouldnt be good. ill try the a pillar first then probably more to the top left than i marked in the other photo and see where i have the best sound

depends on where the passive xovers are i guess.

personally i would focus on frequency response over imaging.
