January 5, 201312 yr If I buy Linear Power products will I become an "audiophile?"I don't know man ... If you think of that word like the mods here do, I really can not answer this question ... Like I said in my last post, if its going to cause problems, then I'd rather not say anything ...However, if you think of it like I do ... I can only recommend this product from personal experience. To me, "audiophile" means "For the Love of Music" and LP has been making amplifiers since the early 80s.Very dependable, powerful, clear, and very dynamic with some of the smallest footprints on the market ...These guys hand build their amps ... each and every one of them. That takes pride and dedication !!!Anything built like that these days are built to last ... and exceed your every expectationI personaly don't know of any other manufacturing company that does this ... If there is some out there, they have my utmost respect because personally know what goes into each and every amplifer built ... PRIDE IN YOUR WORK !!!Thats "For the Love of Music" and thats what I call Audiophile !!!I really wish I could give you a demo sometime and see if you could answer your own question here ...I'd really like your personal opinion on this ... By any chance you plan to be at SBN 2013 ???????????????
January 5, 201312 yr The term "audiophile" has a pretty ubiquitous connotation to most in this hobby, both car & home. It's generally used to describe someone who believes there are aspects at every stage of the reproduction process which lie beyond or can not be completely captured and explained by science (i.e. measurements and other empirical analysis), or they use very obscure theories to try to explain why one product is empirically "better" than another. Those who put emphasis on empirical analysis use the term as an insult, implying they are ignorant and lack logical, rational thought. Those who consider themselves "audiophiles" use it as a term of endearment, suggesting they are more enlightened, informed and attentive. It extends well beyond the "mods" of this forum to the general application of the term by thousands and thousands of enthusiasts throughout the hobby.
