Posted December 6, 201212 yr I've been trying to pick out a good set of comps for a while now and was wondering if I could get any input? I picked up a honda accord and everything has been ripped out. I guess its a good starting point. I have been watching videos on how to build your own fiberglass door panels and kicks and figured I might give it a try. If I can get it to fit I was hoping to run 2 12's ported sealed from the trunk and was wondering what set of comps would keep up and be clean but not too harsh? And if running 2 sets would be better?
December 6, 201212 yr No, 2 sets would not be better. It would be worse, actually.Where are you installing....in doors, or in kicks? What is your budget?
December 7, 201212 yr A half way decient set of comps properly installed and on a moderate amp will keep up with 2 12"s.

December 7, 201212 yr Author Well the car already has the factory mounting holes in the doors but I seen qlogic makes kick panels for it so I was thinking about buying those would they be better? If I'm only buying one set I could spend a little more on the speakers since I could save a little buying a two channel amp. So somewhere around $250. I was checking the crescendo mezzo comps what do you guys think about those?
December 7, 201212 yr Often times kick panel installs help with imaging. It's really hard recommending comp sets, people have different tastes, there have been a TON of posts about which comp set to use, read some of those for opinions.
December 7, 201212 yr Author Yea I have been reading some other post but my problem is I live in northern MI and there are no car stereo shops around that I know of so I can't just go listen like most of the other post say. I guess I'm just going to have to wing it and hope for the best. Thanks for the info.
December 7, 201212 yr I've heard and liked Alpine type r's, but not everybody does. I would love to hear some of the comp sets offered at the SSA store, but haven't found any yet.
